Wonderful work as always David with some very convincing samples. I especially like the transition from 0:46-1:00 to 0:14; the rhythms are very exciting, but the harmonies are deeply expressive... I cannot wait to see what you come out with next.

DavidOrr responds:

Thanks Ben -- what a pleasant surprise to get a review from you!

Great work!

I really liked this one. The sound you use for the introduction is very tasteful, and the track as a whole utilizes a nice variety of textures. Yes, it does sound Chinese, but it also sounds like a nice expression of your own compositional voice.

Cute.

Cute. I really enjoyed this.

Interesting.

Interesting. I liked the combination of pizzicato strings with heavy drums. Also liked the melody at 1:15.

Loved this.

I loved this. The piano part is simple, funny and clever. Nice voice, too. Reminds me of a Schubert song.

JPRixdorfer responds:

Haha, thanks!!

Of course this is inspired by Schubert, if you allow the blasphemy.

You're too hard on yourself.

You're too hard on yourself. This is fun music. The monk sound reminds me of an old piece of software called Virtual Singer which was put out by Myriad. Fond memories....

F4LL0UT responds:

Thank you.

Reanimation

I really enjoyed this track. Even though much roams through minor keys, it stays cheerful and energetic--a good example of why a minor key doesn't necessarily have to imply a negative emotion.

Beautiful

Wonderful work. I agree with Nyliir, this reminds me very pleasantly of the movies put out by Studio Ghibli (scored by the very talented Joe Hisaishi). This track is nostalgic, honest and lovely.

Booming

Great track; entertaining and jolly. I really love the combination of the acoustic guitars, the brass and the huge bass sound you have going on here. In this context, especially considering your game is a platformer, it reminds me a bit of the Crash Bandicoot soundtracks, particularly CB 2 and 3. The whistling is a nice touch towards the end.

F4LL0UT responds:

Thanks. I haven't ever played Crash Bandicoot but now I'm curious. I guess I'll check out its soundtrack.

Great compilation

Some great TV or movie music here.
